Demystifying Next-Level Digitizing
Cost: $75.00 Earlybird, $85.00 Regular Price.
  Audience: Embroidery Digitizers

If you're a digitizer who knows their way around your software but wants to graduate from just reproducing a logo into creating memorable embroidery designs - this session is for you. Want to take full advantage of the physical properties of thread to make something more than the source material? During this seminar you'll be given tools to take your digitizing to the next level with thread in mind, so that even your most humdrum logo will have added embroidery-specific visual appeal and value that you can sell your customer. From single color silhouettes to multi-color masterpieces, the basic techniques in this workshop will help you build any design better from the foundation up to create stunning pieces, even when your original artwork isn't that awesome. We will examine these three areas:

Adding Depth with dimensional 'carving' - Fight the flat fill! By breaking up objects into discrete elements that reflect real-world structures, we can make any silhouette or filled area into a relief sculpture on which we can build a richer, more complex design than the old 'coloring book' method of fills and outlines.

The Magic of Surface: We'll expand on carving with simple textural enhancement tips, including how to use basic fill settings, stitch angles, layering, and density variations to use the natural luster in your thread to create light effects, alter color perception, and enhance shading in your designs.

Becoming a Scientific Stitcher: Expand your Skills quickly and reliably through Analysis and Experimentation - Now that we are thinking behind the basic, this segment will teach you how to experiment and analyze like a scientist to get your best results when you're learning or developing a new technique.
