What Isn't there to do in Kansas City?!
Coming to DAX is great. You'll make your business better with the knowledge, sources, and savings you'll gain by attending the show. But when the trade floor closes and you've finished networking at the party, there are still lots of great reasons to be in Kansas City. Whatever you like to do, it's happening in Kansas City during DAX. Check out these links to great events, shopping, and savings we've found to help make your trip more fun and more rewarding.
Within Walking Distance
We know that sometimes you will need something in a hurry, and let's face it:
if you fly in there is no need to rent a car to get to DAX. You'll find that
the attached Holiday Inn has a very nice restaurant called 'Burger Theory'
behind the big glass windows overlooking the convention center. Also, just a
few blocks up Ambassador Drive, you'll find "Scott's
Kitchen at Hangar 29" with great Barbecue and sides.
No Car? No Problem!
If you are a
guest of the Holiday Inn, you're still covered! The Holiday Inn shuttle
offers service to a number of nearby locations, including the Zona Rosa
district!

Scott's Picks
Minsky's Pizza / Sports Bar
Great Pizza - try something with chicken
on their whole wheat crust.
Ingredient
Kind of like a gourmet-fast food place
started by 3 chefs
Hereford House
Great steak house, reasonable price.
Original Downtown location burned down, but there is a Zona Rosa location!
Jack's Stack Barbecue
Kansas City knows BBQ, and this one's got a great modern "sweet & spicy" sauce. For a traditional "Peppery/vinegar" sauce,
try Arthur Bryants.
If you have a car and want to get out of town a little ways, try Wabash Barbecue
located in the old train depot. Great atmosphere - but no air conditioning!
Make sure they are open before you head out.
Arabia Steamboat Museum
My kids got to go there, I had to work.
It's on my "bucket list."
The Legends
I'm not a big shopper, but if you can't find it here, it might not exist in this hemisphere.
